Artist statement

Today, even though I continue to be an expressionist driven by dark emotional themes thoughtout my work. It is the abstract philosophy, which has renewed my intent on creating a more social responsible approach to my visual art. Hence, the impact ‘we’ as artists have and what I can contribute to the world as a whole individual. I am establishing my new sense of self. Evolving out of the woodwork of self-doubt. Previous to this I have said, “True creation comes from inspiration”. However, I have come to this understanding. There can be no true creation or inspiration without a clear foundation that allows for innovation through thought. It is now with this statement, I am committing myself to success within the process of creating. Moving forward, but avoiding the need for instant results, which happen to be so much apart of my generation as well as our culture in America.
